Location:
Our plant is located almost exactly in the center of Germany. It has an ideal connection to all major traffic routes, being located at only 6 km of distance from the highway A70 (Schweinfurt - Bamberg). The supply of the site with the raw material wood from far away or close by is hence no logistical problem at all. With the train-connection to the so called "North-South-rail" the export with containers via railway to the German or even to the European Northern continental harbours is a reasonable alternative mode of transportation. Another point being considered advantageous to service industries, is the fact that there are a multitude of hardwood sawmills located in the area, amongst which are some of the nationwide most important ones.
Production site:
The production site is located on a 500 m long area on a mountain side above a country road. Due to the growing requirements there were several stages of growth, and thus the entire site has been built in several phases of construction. The buildings and the office area and the operation halls are of high-standard, and fully meet today's requirements.
Raw material supply:
Here, in the northern Steigerwald (Lower Franconia), adjacent to the mountains Hassberge and the area called Spessart, with its wide hardwood- and mixed forest stands, there should not be any worries with respect to an unsufficient supply of raw material. In addition, market supporting purchases from the neighbouring eastern countries are possible at any time. As a matter of fact they have been undertaken, and are recommended. Talking about raw material we mainly talk about the timber species beech, which is at hand at the desired quality and in sufficient quantity. In the meantime there is rising demand for oak, which likewise is occuring in the surrounding forests in sufficient quantities. Even when there is demand for other hardwood species, e.g. cherry, maple and ash as planed edges, these might not be at hand in the same quantities as beech and oak, yet they can be supplied in certain quantities. In addition there purchase from foreign countries is another possibility. The supply of raw material for the production of firewood, mainly industrial beech logs, is ensured by the regional forest office in addition.
